The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services-Administration for Children and Families (ACF), the U.S. Department of Labor-Employment and Training Administration (ETA), and the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS-SNAP) held an Inter-Agency Regional Meeting this week in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting was designed to bring together leadership and program staff from the state agencies operating TANF, Child Support, Child Welfare, Runaway and Homeless Youth, Workforce and SNAP programs across the southeast United States to share innovative strategies and updates related to partnership, program implementation, and collaboration.
The theme of the event was “Building Effective Partnerships Utilizing Customer-Centered Approaches to Strengthen Employment Outcomes under WIOA.” Workforce Essentials was honored to be asked to not only attend the event, but to participate as a presenter. Highlighting our partnership with the Tennessee Department of Human Services, Natalie McLimore, Director of Families First for Workforce Essentials and Keisha Malone, Family Assistance Operation Director for Human Services presented a workshop on “Developing Career-Focused Services to TANF Clients”. Natalie and Keisha were fantastic! They shared how they utilized resources across funding streams, engaged strategic partners, and were establishing a two-generation model (2-Gen) to break the welfare cycle. Natalie made us proud by representing Workforce Essentials in a professional and positive light! Way to go Natalie!
